Point England Reserve
Over four evenings in November and December, the Twilight Swim Run Series celebrates Auckland’s rich history of swim-run events, once a proving ground for athletes of all levels, emerging juniors right through to Olympians and Ironman champions.
The chosen venue, Point England, is ideal for delivering competitive events in an environment suited to quality racing.
The race distances honor the sport’s past while embracing its future. The opening events feature swim-run formats, while later events introduce the excitement of Supertri-style racing.
Each race day includes three distinct races: one for seniors (19 and over), serving as the opening, Nippers as the curtain-raiser, followed by the main event, the junior race.
The junior race aims to create a true race simulation environment, with a dedicated marked transition area where coaches and parents are prohibited and goggles left out of the box will incur a 30-second time penalty.
With the 2028 World Age Group Championships in Tauranga in view, this event helps juniors gain familiarity within a competitive race setting.
There is also a tag team option where one does all the swims and one does all the runs.
We also have a "Rookie" start which leaves 15 minutes prior to the main race and is for the newbies and nervous Nellies.
Recognising that our sport can be costly, we offer a free entry category for competitors who nominate a volunteer to assist on race day. The volunteer role is engaging and does not involve setup or breakdown tasks.
We’re collaborating with local triathlon clubs and coaches to establish this series as a cornerstone of our sport’s development pathway. We encourage all participants to join a local triathlon club.
Whether racing solo, tag team, with a club, as part of a coached squad, or cheering from the sidelines, the Twilight Swim Run Series welcomes every triathlete—regardless of experience, shape, size, or pace—with open arms at the finish line.
Join us to celebrate triathlon, community, and the thrill of the race. We look forward to seeing you at the 2025 Twilight Swim Run Series!
