Kingi's

What is the Kingi’s race?

Kingi's is the perfect introduction to open water swimming for Under 12's, offering a controlled environment to help new swimmers feel at ease. The event includes a 150m swim in shallow water, where the depth never exceeds chest height, ensuring everyone can stand comfortably, followed by a 1.5 km run.

Event Details:

Swim: A 150m course in shallow, chest-deep water.

Run: 1.5 km.

Age: Under 12 Years. 

Chaperones: An adult must accompany any child under 8 years old for added support and safety.

Awards: No merit awards, keeping the focus on fun, growth, and building confidence.

Are there special considerations for Kingi's on the run?
Kingi's can participate in any run distance, ranging from a few hundred meters to 1.5km. The decision on the distance is left to the parents' discretion.
